Police have arrested two individuals, Nishant Kumar and Keshav Jha, in connection with the shooting of hotel owner Abhinandan Yadav near Raipur village in Samastipur's Sarairanjan police station area. The suspects were attempting to flee to Nepal when a joint operation by the Special Task Force (STF) and police apprehended them near Madhubani. Keshav Jha, who also runs a private school in Sarairanjan, is accused of shooting the hotel owner.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a financial dispute was the motive behind the incident. According to Sadar DSP Satish Suman, Abhinandan and Keshav were previously friends. Approximately three years ago, Abhinandan opened a hotel in Raipur, and Keshav Jha had invested around two lakh rupees in it. A dispute had arisen over the return of this investment. Additionally, Keshav reportedly owed 8,000 to 10,000 rupees for food at the hotel, which Abhinandan was repeatedly demanding.

Police sources indicate that on Thursday night, Keshav arrived at Abhinandan's hotel with some friends. As the food had run out, an argument ensued between them. Keshav then left but returned shortly after with an accomplice. Abhinandan was sleeping outside the hotel at the time. The accused woke him up, assaulted him, and as they were leaving, Keshav fired three shots at Abhinandan. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed outside the hotel, which aided the police in identifying the suspects.

Abhinandan's family members also allege that Keshav attacked him out of anger over the demand for outstanding payments. Police have stated that an old financial dispute existed between the two. The police are investigating all aspects of the case and assured that further details would be revealed soon.
