A grand wrestling (dangal) competition was organized on the fifth day of the six-day Shri Krishna Janmotsav celebration at the Higher Secondary School premises in Parsa, Saran district. Organized by the Shri Krishna Puja Committee, the event saw male and female wrestlers from various Indian states, including Bihar, and Nepal showcase their strength and traditional wrestling techniques. Thousands of spectators from Parsa and surrounding villages gathered to witness the spectacle, creating an atmosphere of excitement and thrill late into the night.

The wrestling arena was inaugurated by former MLA Chhotelal Rai, who performed rituals and broke a coconut. Following the inauguration, a series of exciting bouts began between the wrestlers. Dignitaries present included Nagar Panchayat Chairman representative Ajmullah, Kamlesh Rai, and Akhilesh Kumar, who were honored with traditional garments by the organizers.

In the men's category, a total of 12 wrestlers from Nepal, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Bengal participated. Several matches witnessed intense competition, with wrestlers employing various moves to defeat their opponents, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. In the men's final, wrestlers from Bihar and Rajasthan delivered outstanding performances and emerged victorious, receiving widespread appreciation from the spectators.

Women's wrestling matches were also a major highlight. Four female wrestlers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan displayed their talent with full confidence and vigor. In the women's final, wrestlers from Chhapra (Bihar) and Uttar Pradesh secured victories. A large number of women and young girls were also present to watch these matches, cheering on the female wrestlers with applause.

The Shri Krishna Puja Committee stated that the competition aimed to promote traditional wrestling and inspire youth towards sports. Organizers emphasized that such competitions in rural areas are crucial for developing discipline, physical prowess, and sportsmanship among young people. At the conclusion of the event, Shri Krishna Puja Committee President Shailendra Yadav, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Rai, and other members honored the victorious wrestlers and wished them a bright future. Committee members actively managed security and arrangements throughout the dangal. The massive turnout underscored the enduring appeal of traditional wrestling and dangal in rural areas.
