Sasaram, Rohtas: A shocking double murder has been reported in Sasaram, where a couple sleeping on their rooftop was shot dead by criminals. The incident occurred in Beda-Banarsia village, under the Muffassil police station jurisdiction. The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Nanki Devi and 45-year-old Mani Bhushan Kumar. The couple was reportedly in a live-in relationship before getting married. However, a statement from Nanki Devi's son suggests she was previously in a live-in relationship with Mani Bhushan's brother, Krishna Bind, before marrying Mani Bhushan.

According to Abhishek Kumar, Nanki Devi's son, loud gunshots were heard from the rooftop around 2 AM on Sunday night. He attempted to open his room door but found it locked from the outside. Abhishek also stated that he saw some individuals fleeing from the rooftop who shined a torch in his face, preventing him from identifying them.

Sasaram SDPO-2 Sanjeev Kumar confirmed the incident, stating that the perpetrators first locked the doors of other family members' rooms from the outside before proceeding to the rooftop and fatally shooting the couple. Police have initiated an investigation, with forensic teams collecting evidence from the scene. Raids are underway to apprehend the culprits. The couple, originally from West Champaran, operated a seed shop in Sasaram.
