Residents of Sauraha Bujurg village in Bettiah have adopted a unique method to protest the dilapidated condition of their main road. Frustrated by large potholes and waterlogging, villagers expressed their anger and disappointment by planting paddy saplings in these potholes. This incident highlights the deep dissatisfaction of the villagers with the administration and local public representatives.

According to the villagers, the road's condition is so poor that it has become completely unsuitable for commuting. During the rainy season, the road transforms into a pond, making it difficult even for pedestrians, let alone vehicles. The deep potholes on the road are a constant cause of accidents, keeping villagers in perpetual fear. Students and sick individuals face immense difficulties traversing this road, affecting their daily routines and access to essential services.

Villagers stated that they have repeatedly appealed to the local administration and public representatives regarding this issue, but their complaints have been ignored. Despite repeated assurances, no work has commenced for the road's repair or construction. Tired of this neglect, the villagers resorted to planting paddy in the road's potholes as a symbolic protest. They assert that if the administration does not resolve this issue soon, they will be forced to undertake more aggressive protests. This demonstration not only exposes the poor state of the road but also illustrates how the lack of development work is fueling public outrage.
