Seven people were injured when a tempo carrying devotees returning from Simaria overturned on Wednesday. The incident occurred when the tempo, filled with devotees who had bathed at the Simaria Ganga Ghat, lost control and overturned on the road. Women and children are among the injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the tempo was heading towards Munger from the Simaria Ganga Ghat. The driver lost control at a turn, causing the vehicle to overturn by the roadside. Cries of distress filled the air immediately after the accident. Local residents promptly initiated rescue efforts, helping the injured out of the tempo.

The injured include residents from various villages in Munger district. Some sustained serious injuries and were immediately taken to the local Primary Health Center. After initial treatment, doctors referred some of them to the Sadar Hospital for advanced care. It is believed that the tempo was overloaded, which might have contributed to the accident.

The police have been informed and are investigating the scene. The police stated that the tempo driver fled the spot after the incident. Authorities are searching for the driver, and the tempo has been impounded. This accident once again raises concerns about passenger safety, particularly the issue of overloading in vehicles returning from religious sites.
