A female teacher's gold chain was snatched by bike-borne criminals in broad daylight near the Chakmahila petrol pump in Sitamarhi city. The incident occurred as the teacher, Anamika Devi, was walking from her residence to Chakmahila Middle School to teach. The perpetrators fled the scene at high speed after committing the crime.

Anamika Devi, originally from Panthpakhar village in Bathnaha police station area, currently resides in a rented accommodation in Adarsh Nagar mohalla, under Mehsoul police station. Her husband's name is Rajnish Kumar Shahi. The chain snatching happened so quickly that the teacher couldn't even react in time.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Mehsoul police station personnel promptly arrived at the spot. Mehsoul Station House Officer (SHO) Dhananjay Chaudhary confirmed the incident, stating that the victim's application has been received. The police are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby shops and roadside cameras to identify and apprehend the culprits. A thorough investigation into the matter is underway.
