Sitamarhi: Panic spread in Bajitpur village, under Bajpatti police station in Sitamarhi district, Bihar, on Friday after three students suddenly fell ill upon returning home from their coaching classes. They were rushed to different private clinics and hospitals for treatment. Tragically, two teenage girls died during treatment, while the third student remains in serious condition.

The deceased students have been identified as residents of Bajitpur village. According to their families, all three girls suddenly became ill and then unconscious shortly after returning from coaching. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, a physician at Bajpatti PHC, has suspected the consumption of some poisonous substance, though the exact cause of death is yet to be determined.

Family members stated that a 15-year-old girl was admitted to a private clinic where she passed away. Another 16-year-old girl was being taken to Sadar Hospital for better treatment, but her condition worsened en route, and she succumbed. The third student is currently undergoing treatment at a private clinic and is reported to be in critical condition.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local police initiated an inquiry. Bajpatti Station House Officer Amrit Pal stated that the families refused to allow post-mortem examinations for the two deceased girls and submitted a written application requesting their bodies, which the police honored. The police are investigating the sudden illness and deaths. No formal written complaint has been filed by the families or villagers yet, but further action will be taken if a complaint is received. The incident, involving three students falling ill simultaneously and two dying, has raised several questions that the police are looking into.
