Police have found crucial leads in the daylight theft of jewelry worth one crore rupees in Sitapur, Sarguja. Sitapur Police Station In-charge Akhilesh Singh stated that the two accused involved in the incident are members of an interstate gang. This syndicate operates across the country, committing similar crimes. The police have identified the criminals and expect to apprehend them soon.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning when Arun Soni, owner of Vishwanath Kashinath Jewelers in Sitapur, arrived at his shop around 11:30 AM with a bag full of jewelry. While unlocking the shutter, he left the bag hanging on his scooter. Two individuals, who were already waiting on a motorcycle, quickly snatched the bag from the scooter and fled. The theft happened so rapidly that the jeweler and bystanders were unable to react. By the time the businessman realized what had happened, the culprits had vanished with the bag containing crores worth of ornaments. This brazen daylight heist caused a stir throughout the town.

The jeweler and the business community have filed a written complaint at the Sitapur police station. Given the gravity of the case, Sarguja SP Rajesh Agarwal, along with the cyber team, visited the crime scene. SSP Rajesh Agarwal has formed five to six teams to identify and apprehend the suspects. Several teams have been dispatched to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, while two teams are operating within the district. On Monday, the Jewelers' Association also met with the Sarguja IG and submitted a memorandum regarding the incident. Rajesh Soni, President of the Jewelers' Association, expressed concern that rising metal prices make jewelers soft targets for thieves, and a fellow businessman has lost his life's savings. SSP Rajesh Agarwal assured that investigations are ongoing and the accused will be caught soon. Local police and the cyber team have analyzed CCTV footage, confirming the involvement of an interstate gang.
