A large fake currency manufacturing racket has been busted in Siwan district, Bihar. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested two individuals, including a woman, and seized counterfeit notes worth lakhs of rupees, along with machines, printers, scanners, and other equipment used in the operation. This successful raid marks a significant achievement for the Siwan police in dismantling an organized crime network.

The Superintendent of Police (SP) stated that complaints regarding the circulation of fake currency in Siwan and surrounding areas had been received for some time. Following intelligence inputs about an active counterfeit manufacturing gang, a special team was formed. The team conducted a raid on the suspects' hideout, leading to the apprehension of a woman and a man. A large number of fake notes, primarily in denominations of 500 and 200 rupees, amounting to several lakhs, were recovered from their possession.

The seized equipment included a high-quality printer, scanner, note-cutting machine, special paper, and inks, indicating a professional operation. Police are currently interrogating the arrested individuals to uncover other members of the gang and their wider network. It is suspected that the gang's operations might extend to other districts within Bihar and neighboring states. Authorities have affirmed their commitment to bringing all involved parties to justice, hoping this bust will curb the spread of fake currency and protect the public and businesses from financial losses.
