Siwan Sadar Hospital's emergency ward is currently facing a severe health crisis, with patients enduring hours of distress due to the absence of MBBS doctors. According to sources, the emergency ward is entirely reliant on intern doctors, putting patients' lives at risk and depriving them of proper medical treatment.

As per hospital regulations, the presence of at least one MBBS doctor is mandatory in the emergency ward to ensure prompt and accurate decisions in critical cases. However, this rule has been disregarded for some time now. Intern doctors, who are still in their training phase, lack sufficient experience to handle serious illnesses and emergency situations. Consequently, patients and their families wait for hours for a doctor, and often have to return without treatment or seek help from private hospitals.

This situation worsens particularly at night and during holidays when MBBS doctors are rarely available. In such circumstances, patients ranging from those with minor injuries to severe heart conditions or road accident victims are left to the care of intern doctors. Patients report that they do not receive proper examinations or immediate treatment, which can exacerbate their condition.

The apathy of the hospital administration is a significant contributing factor. Patients and local residents have raised this issue multiple times, but no concrete steps have been taken so far. This situation not only compromises patient health but also raises serious questions about the healthcare system. The health department needs to address this immediately and ensure the adequate presence of MBBS doctors to provide better emergency healthcare services to the people of Siwan.
