A shocking incident of stabbing occurred at the Durga idol immersion fair near SBI Bank in Srinagar, under the Mufassil police station area of Siwan district. An uncle and his nephew, who had come to witness the fair, were attacked with knives by some youths, leaving both seriously injured. The injured have been identified as Ramayan Yadav and his nephew Rahul Yadav, both residents of Srinagar.

The incident caused panic among the fairgoers. With the help of locals and the police, both injured individuals were immediately rushed to the Sadar Hospital. After preliminary treatment, given their critical condition, doctors referred them to Patna for advanced medical care.

Ramayan Yadav stated that he and his nephew Rahul were attending the Durga idol immersion fair. While strolling through the fair, they encountered some youths from their village. According to Ramayan Yadav, they had a prior dispute with these youths. It is alleged that the youths suddenly initiated an argument and, during the heated exchange, attacked them with knives. Ramayan Yadav was stabbed in the back, while Rahul Yadav sustained a knife wound near his chest. Both fell to the ground, bleeding profusely. Hearing the commotion, onlookers rushed to the spot, after which the assailants fled.

Mufassil Station House Officer Upendra Kumar Singh informed that preliminary information suggests the attackers are also from the same village, and there was an existing dispute between the two parties. The police transported the injured to the hospital and have initiated an investigation into the matter. No written complaint has been received from the injured yet, but the police are investigating other angles and collecting digital evidence related to the incident.
