नौहट्टा प्रखंड क्षेत्र में सोन नदी के जलस्तर में लगातार गिरावट दर्ज की जा रही है, जिससे सामान्य जनजीवन पटरी पर लौट आया है। बाढ़ के कारण विस्थापित हुए लोग अब सोनडीला पर वापस लौटने लगे हैं। सोन नदी में नावों का परिचालन भी सामान्य हो गया है, और सोनडीला पर खेती करने वाले किसान प्रतिदिन नाव से अपने खेतों तक पहुँच रहे हैं। यहाँ से दूध और सब्जियों की आपूर्ति भी फिर से शुरू हो गई है।
हालांकि, जलस्तर में कमी के बावजूद नदी के किनारों पर कटाव जारी है। सोन नदी बांदू अमरखा गांव में नीची जमीन से होकर एक नई धारा बनाने का प्रयास कर रही है। उतर कोयल नदी के मिलान बिंदु संगम पर होने के कारण बांदू अमरखा गांव में कटाव की समस्या अधिक है। जलसंसाधन विभाग द्वारा कटाव रोकने के लिए लगाए गए जिओ बैग में से हजारों बैग तेज धारा में बह गए हैं, जिससे कटाव की प्रवृत्ति और तेज हो गई है। दारानगर और सिंहपुर सूर्य मंदिर तक भी कटाव अधिक हुआ है। यदि जल्द ही कटाव निरोधक कार्य शुरू नहीं किए गए, तो दो दर्जन से अधिक गांव प्रभावित हो सकते हैं। विभाग के अनुसार, इंद्रपुरी बराज पर वर्तमान में 2,02,196 क्यूसेक पानी आ रहा है, जिसमें से 1,94,963 क्यूसेक पानी सोन नदी में छोड़ा जा रहा है।
Water levels in the Son River within the Nauhatta block area continue to recede, allowing daily life to return to normalcy. People displaced by the floods are now returning to Sondeela. Boat operations on the Son River have also resumed, with farmers cultivating on Sondeela reaching their fields daily by boat. The supply of milk and vegetables from the area has also recommenced.
Despite the decrease in water levels, riverbank erosion remains a significant concern. The Son River is attempting to create a new channel through low-lying land in Bandu Amarkha village. Erosion is particularly severe in Bandu Amarkha due to its location at the confluence point with the North Koel River. Thousands of geo-bags filled with sand, placed by the Water Resources Department to prevent erosion, have been swept away by the strong currents, intensifying the problem. Significant erosion has also occurred up to Daranagar and Singhpur Surya Mandir. If anti-erosion measures are not implemented soon, over two dozen villages could be affected. According to the department, 202,196 cusecs of water are currently arriving at the Indrapuri Barrage, with 194,963 cusecs being released into the Son River.
