Severe floods have wreaked havoc in Sonpur, Bihar, as the rising water levels of the Ganga and Gandak rivers have submerged several areas. The floodwaters have entered the premises of the famous Harihar Nath Temple and the local police station, disrupting daily life. A video widely circulated on social media vividly captures the extent of the devastation, showing knee-deep water around the temple and within the police station compound. Locals are facing significant difficulties in commuting, and many homes and shops have suffered extensive damage, leading to losses worth millions. The district administration has initiated relief and rescue operations in the affected regions. However, with river levels still above the danger mark, there is an apprehension that the situation could worsen.
