The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has made a significant bust at the India-Nepal border, apprehending a smuggler with 87 liters of Nepali liquor. This operation is part of a special drive by the SSB to curb illegal smuggling activities along the border.

According to reports, an SSB patrol team was on routine surveillance in the border area when they noticed a suspicious individual carrying some goods. When signaled to stop, the suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by the alert SSB personnel. Upon searching, the team recovered a total of 87 liters of Nepali liquor, packed in various bottles and pouches.

The smuggler was attempting to illegally transport this liquor from Nepal into India, where it was intended to be sold at higher prices in the Indian market. SSB officials estimate the seized liquor to be worth several lakhs. The motorcycle used in the smuggling attempt has also been confiscated.

Interrogation of the arrested smuggler is underway to identify other members of this smuggling racket and the larger syndicate behind it. The SSB maintains constant vigilance along the India-Nepal border to prevent the trafficking of narcotics, weapons, and other prohibited items. Such actions are crucial in curbing cross-border crimes. This success is attributed to the vigilance and promptness of the SSB jawans.
