A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in Pachlakh Dih village, under Parsa police station in Saran district, where a 12-year-old student, Sanchit Kumar, drowned in floodwaters. Sanchit was the son of Raghu Rai.

The incident took place when Sanchit was heading towards a field behind his house. The area was inundated with floodwaters. His foot slipped on the road, causing him to fall into a deep roadside ditch filled with floodwater. Upon witnessing him fall, locals raised an alarm. Villagers promptly initiated rescue efforts and, after considerable struggle, managed to pull him out of the water.

Sanchit was immediately rushed to the Community Health Center in Parsa, where Dr. Suman Kumar declared him brought dead. The unfortunate incident has plunged the family into deep sorrow, with his father Raghu Rai, mother Sunita Devi, and sister Khushi Kumari inconsolable. Upon receiving information, the police took custody of the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital Chapra for post-mortem examination. This incident raises serious concerns about the safety of children in flood-affected regions.
