On Wednesday, the sacred kalash (pots) of Maa Durga were immersed with full rituals in Sultanganj. Amidst the beats of drums and chants of 'Jai Mata Di', devotees gathered at the Namami Gange Ghat, praying for prosperity and bidding farewell to the Goddess with a plea for her return next year. From the Shri Shri 108 Badi Durga Sthan Temple on Upper Road, head priest Sanjay Baba, Sunny Choudhary, and Saurav Kumar led a procession of the kalash through the town. Devotees, chanting slogans, reached the Namami Gange Ghat and immersed the kalash in the Ganges. The Shiv Pandal Durga Puja Committee, located in Modi Tola, Sabzi Mandi, also performed the immersion of their kalash. Other puja pandals in the town also carried out kalash immersions, creating an atmosphere of devotion throughout the event. On Thursday, a procession of Maa Durga's idols will take place, followed by their immersion.
