A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Supaul district, Bihar. A two-year-old boy, Paramjeet, who was visiting his maternal grandparents' home in Ward No. 9 of Tekuna Panchayat, under Pratapganj police station, died after accidentally consuming petrol. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday evening (August 17, 2026), plunging the entire family into grief.

According to reports, Paramjeet, son of Neeraj Kumar from Baisi village under Karjain police station, was at his grandparents' house with his parents. A small amount of petrol was kept in a bottle at home for treating cattle wounds. While playing, the toddler reached the bottle and unknowingly drank the petrol.

Upon realizing what had happened, the family was thrown into a panic. They immediately rushed the child to Pratapganj government hospital, where doctors provided primary treatment. However, given the child's critical condition, he was referred to Raghopur Hospital for better care. Doctors at Raghopur Hospital also treated the child, but his condition did not improve, leading to another referral to Supaul Sadar Hospital.

The family set off for Supaul Sadar Hospital with the child, but tragically, Paramjeet passed away en route before reaching the hospital. The child's grandfather stated that he received a phone call informing him that Paramjeet had drunk petrol, and he rushed to the hospital, but by then, the situation was already very serious. Family members tirelessly moved from one hospital to another in an attempt to save the toddler, but despite all efforts, his life could not be saved. The news of the child's death has left the family in deep shock, with parents, grandparents, and other relatives inconsolable.
