Despite a complete liquor ban in Bihar, the smuggling of alcohol continues unabated. Ahead of Durga Puja, police in Supaul district have seized a large consignment of foreign liquor. During a search of a suspicious truck parked on the roadside in the Raghopur police station area, 2475.36 liters of foreign liquor were recovered. The police have also confiscated the truck along with the liquor.

Supaul Superintendent of Police, Sarath RS, disclosed details of the operation. He stated that during the night of October 15 and 16, Raghopur police received confidential information about a large consignment of liquor arriving in the area. Recognizing the seriousness of the tip-off, the police immediately planned an operation.

Under the direction of the SP, a team was formed under the leadership of the Veerpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer. Subsequently, a vehicle inspection drive was launched in the area. During this operation, a suspicious truck parked on the roadside was searched, revealing a large quantity of foreign liquor. The police formally seized the vehicle.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Raghopur police station, and further investigations have commenced. Efforts are underway to determine who ordered this consignment of liquor and who all are involved in this smuggling network. The police are taking necessary action to identify and apprehend the culprits. The recovery of such a large quantity of foreign liquor, despite the complete prohibition in Bihar, raises questions about the extent of the smuggling network. Police are now working to ascertain the origin of this consignment and its intended destination.
