A demolition drive was carried out in Supaul district following a court order, targeting illegal encroachments. During this action, Mahadalit families blocked National Highway NH-106, disrupting traffic and creating a tense situation.

The incident occurred in Pipra Khurd village, Supaul, where 20 Mahadalit families, who had been residing in houses built on government land for years, faced court-ordered eviction. The circle administration, acting on the court's directive, used bulldozers to demolish these homes. Incensed by the demolition drive, the Mahadalit families protested by blocking NH-106. They alleged that they were being rendered homeless without any alternative arrangements.

Upon receiving news of the blockade, local administration and police forces arrived at the scene. They attempted to pacify the protesters and urged them to clear the road. However, the Mahadalit families remained firm on their demands, stating they would not lift the blockade until they were provided with a place to live. The road blockade led to long queues of vehicles on both sides, causing significant inconvenience to commuters.

Officials stated that the action was taken under the orders of the Honorable Court and could not be delayed. They also clarified that these families had been issued multiple notices to vacate the land prior to the demolition, but they had failed to comply. The administration appealed to the protesters to maintain peace and abide by the law. The situation remained unresolved late into the evening, with the administration continuing efforts to address the matter.
