In Bihar's Samastipur district, a teacher suffered a heart attack during an excise department raid at his home in Banveera Panchayat, under the Morwa Halai police station jurisdiction. The excise team had arrived at teacher Amarnath Rai's residence following a tip-off about illicit liquor. The team surrounded the house for nearly three hours but found no alcohol.

According to family members, an argument ensued between the police personnel and the teacher during the raid, after which Amarnath Rai collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and subsequently referred to Patna. His family stated that he was already a heart patient.

The teacher's deteriorating health enraged the villagers, who then vandalized two government vehicles belonging to the excise department. Witnessing the escalating situation, the police personnel fled the scene to save themselves. Upon receiving information about the incident, Halai police station personnel arrived and initiated an investigation.

Halai Police Station In-charge Shailesh Kumar stated that information regarding the vehicle vandalism is being collected, and action will be taken against the culprits after the investigation. A large police force has been deployed in the area to manage the tense situation, and police officers are assessing the circumstances and investigating the entire incident.
