Two young men lost their lives in separate train accidents on the Thawe-Siwan railway section on Friday. The first incident occurred near Devi Halt, where 35-year-old Azruddin Miyan, a resident of Rikhai Tola under Thawe police station, was struck by a passenger train. Both his legs were severed in the accident. Local residents rushed him in critical condition to the Model Sadar Hospital, from where he was referred to PMCH Patna after initial treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries en route to Patna. Thawe GRP Station House Officer Manoj Kumar arrived at the scene, initiated an investigation, and sent the body for post-mortem.

The second tragic incident took place at Sidhwalia railway station. Rajesh Yadav, 36, a resident of Jalalpur Kala under Sidhwalia police station, died while attempting to disembark from a moving train. Rajesh, who worked in Assam selling clothes, was returning home on the Tapti Ganga Express (train number 19046) to visit his ailing mother. Despite the train not having a scheduled stop at Sidhwalia station, he tried to get off while it was in motion, falling onto the platform. He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Upon receiving information, the RPF took custody of the body and sent it to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Rajesh was the sole breadwinner for his family, and his wife and two young daughters are currently in Assam. Both incidents have cast a pall of grief over the respective families.
