A tragic road accident occurred at Pawai Chowk under the Amarpur police station area in Banka district. On Monday evening, a speeding truck collided with a motorcycle, seriously injuring the brother-in-law and sister-in-law who were riding it. The injured have been identified as 25-year-old Mithun Kumar and his sister-in-law, 30-year-old Khushboo Devi, both residents of Pawai village in the Amarpur police station area.

According to reports, Mithun Kumar was taking his sister-in-law, Khushboo Devi, home on his motorcycle from Pawai Chowk. Near Pawai Chowk on the Amarpur-Shahkund main road, an uncontrolled truck hit their bike from behind. The collision was so severe that both fell onto the road and sustained serious injuries. Local residents immediately rushed to the scene, helped the injured, and informed the police.

Both were quickly transported to Amarpur Referral Hospital. After initial treatment, given their critical condition, they were referred to Bhagalpur Mayaganj for better medical care. Hospital sources indicate that Khushboo Devi suffered severe head and other body injuries, while Mithun Kumar also sustained significant injuries. The truck driver fled the scene with the truck after the accident. Police have registered a case and are searching for the absconding driver and the vehicle. The incident caused a brief period of chaos at Pawai Chowk, with locals expressing concerns about road safety.
