An unidentified woman's body has been recovered from a water-filled pit in Bihar's Begusarai district. The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been established. Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination to the Sadar Hospital, initiating an investigation into the matter.

The incident occurred near a culvert located near Sabdalpur, within the Sahebpur Kamal police station area. According to information, on Thursday (July 24, 2026), around 10:00 AM, some individuals passing by the railway line spotted a woman's body in a pit next to Sabdalpur culvert number-19, before the Munger bridge. As news of the discovery spread, a large crowd gathered at the scene.

Upon receiving the information, Sahebpur Kamal police promptly arrived at the spot. The police retrieved the body from waist-deep water. The condition of the body suggests that the woman might have been murdered elsewhere, and her body was subsequently dumped in the water to conceal her identity. Police have circulated photographs of the deceased to all nearby police stations and are actively working to establish her identity.
