A sensation gripped the Fefna area of Ballia district after the body of an unidentified young man was found floating in a pond behind the Fefna Railway Junction's goods shed on Wednesday morning. Laborers who had arrived for work spotted the body and immediately informed the police.

Upon receiving the information, Fefna Police Station personnel rushed to the scene. The police retrieved the body from the pond, conducted a preliminary examination, and sent it for post-mortem. As of now, the deceased remains unidentified. Fefna Station House Officer Akhilesh Chandra Pandey stated that on Wednesday morning, laborers working near the goods shed noticed a body floating in the pond. The police team promptly responded and took possession of the body.

According to the police, the deceased is estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old. He was wearing a green T-shirt and sky-blue jeans. Prima facie, the body appears to be two to three days old. Police are interrogating local residents and attempting to identify the deceased. The circumstances leading to the youth's death and how he ended up in the pond are yet to be ascertained. The police are investigating the case from all possible angles. The exact cause of death will only be clear after the post-mortem report is received.
