Vaishali district has emerged as a leader in Bihar in the cleaning and online entry of water towers and tanks under the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' (Service Resolution Campaign). According to data released by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) until September 23, 1,011 water tanks have been successfully entered online in the Hajipur division. With this achievement, Vaishali district has secured the first position in the state.

The district has a total target of 3,544 water tank entries, of which approximately 28% has been completed so far. District Magistrate Varsha Singh is continuously monitoring the campaign. Along with cleaning the water towers and tanks, their online entry is also being ensured to effectively track the progress of the work. Concerned departmental officers and engineers have been instructed to expedite the work in line with the set targets.

The primary objective of this campaign is not just cleaning, but also ensuring the quality of water reaching homes through the 'Nal-Jal Yojana' (Tap Water Scheme). If tanks are not cleaned for a long time, there is a risk of silt and other impurities accumulating, which affects the purity of drinking water. Therefore, regular cleaning of tanks is directly linked to safe drinking water and the health of families.

The administration now faces the challenge of maintaining this lead and completing the cleaning and online entry of the remaining 2,533 tanks. To achieve this, continuous monitoring at the departmental level and accelerating the pace of work in the field are being emphasized. The role of PHED officials, engineers, junior engineers, and technical personnel is considered crucial for the success of this campaign. The administration's ultimate goal is not limited to cleaning a specific number of tanks but to regularly provide clean and safe drinking water to the people.
