Kusheshwarasthan: Villagers on Wednesday protested the construction of a six-lane toll plaza near the Kareh River bridge on the Hasanpur-Soharba-Satighat road in Barna, bringing the work to a halt. The villagers surrounded engineers from the Benipur and Rosera work divisions of the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation.

Led by Mohammad Mujib and Mohammad Jamal, the villagers demanded that the toll plaza be constructed only at the site specified in the tender. They stated that the bridge over the Kareh River is located in Kundal Mauje, Singhiya block of Samastipur district. The villagers are objecting to the current location of the under-construction toll plaza and want it moved to the original tender-specified site. The protest has disrupted construction work, and officials are reportedly considering the villagers' demands.
