A public platform constructed by a former block head in Maghi Kothilwa village, Vishunpura block, Kushinagar district, has been severely damaged due to a lack of maintenance. Once a primary spot for villagers to sit and seek relief from the heat, the platform is now in a state of disrepair. Its surface is broken in several places, making it difficult and hazardous to sit there, especially for the elderly and children.

Villagers lament that timely repairs could have prevented such deterioration. They questioned the accountability for maintaining old public assets when emphasis is placed on constructing new ones. The absence of a system for post-construction repair and preservation has led to the degradation of amenities used by the community. Villagers including Mantosh, Pappu, Jhamman, Ramjatan, and बबलू have urged concerned officials to renovate the platform promptly, hoping to restore the facility for villagers to sit under the shade of trees once again.
