A woman was critically injured by a lightning strike in Phullidumar block of Banka district on Tuesday. The incident occurred during light rainfall when the woman was near her home. She immediately fell unconscious after being struck by lightning and was admitted in serious condition to the Community Health Center (CHC) Phullidumar. According to doctors, her condition remains critical, and she is undergoing intensive treatment.

Eyewitnesses reported that the weather suddenly changed around noon, and light rain began. During this time, a loud crash of thunder was heard as lightning struck, leaving the woman injured. With the help of family members and local residents, she was immediately rushed to the hospital. This incident once again highlights the dangers posed by lightning, especially during the monsoon season when such occurrences increase.

Local administration has appealed to people to avoid open spaces during rain and thunderstorms and to seek safe shelter. To protect against lightning, it is advised not to stand under trees, to stay away from electric poles and wires, and to remain indoors. This incident in Phullidumar has created an atmosphere of concern throughout the area.
