A tragic road accident in Masaurhi, Patna district, claimed the life of a woman and left her son-in-law and five-year-old grandson seriously injured. The incident occurred on National Highway-22 (NH-22) as the three were returning home after receiving medical treatment. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The deceased woman has been identified as 60-year-old Munki Devi, a resident of Sonmai village in Dhanarua police station area. Her son-in-law, 35-year-old Sunil Kumar, and five-year-old grandson, Ankit Kumar, were also injured in the accident. According to reports, Munki Devi was returning home from Patna with her son-in-law and grandson in an auto-rickshaw after treatment. As they reached Masaurhi on NH-22, an out-of-control highwa truck collided with their auto-rickshaw.

The collision was so severe that the auto was completely damaged, and all three occupants sustained serious injuries. With the help of local residents, the injured were immediately rushed to Masaurhi Hospital, where doctors declared Munki Devi dead. Sunil Kumar and Ankit Kumar, due to their critical condition, were referred to Patna for better treatment.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Masaurhi police reached the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The police have seized the highwa truck, although its driver managed to flee the scene. Police are searching for the absconding driver, and further investigation into the matter is ongoing. Traffic on NH-22 was disrupted for some time after the accident.
