Dowry harassment cases continue to plague Bihar, with another incident recently surfacing where a married woman was allegedly expelled from her in-laws' home for failing to meet dowry demands. The victim lodged a complaint at the local police station, leading to the immediate registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against six individuals, including her husband.

According to the details provided, the woman was married some time ago, and shortly after, her in-laws began demanding additional dowry. In her complaint, the victim stated that she was subjected to constant harassment for ₹50,000 in cash and a motorcycle. When she expressed her inability to fulfill these demands, she was physically assaulted and ultimately thrown out of the house.

Based on the victim's statement, the police have registered a case against her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and three other relatives under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Dowry Prohibition Act. Police officials confirmed that an investigation has commenced, and raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused. They assured that no culprit would be spared, and stringent action would be taken against them as per law. This incident once again highlights the persistent social evil of dowry and underscores the urgent need for strict measures to curb it.
