A wave of shock has spread across the Khirhar police station area in Madhubani district after the body of a young man was recovered from the Bachraja River. On Wednesday morning, locals spotted the body floating near the riverbank and immediately informed the police. A large crowd gathered at the scene following the discovery. The identity of the deceased remains unknown, posing a significant challenge for the authorities.

According to local sources, individuals who went for their morning ablutions first saw the body in the river. Upon receiving the information, Khirhar police arrived at the spot and retrieved the body from the water. The police conducted a preliminary examination (panchnama) and sent the body to Madhubani Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police officials stated that the cause of death would only be clear after the post-mortem report is received. While it initially appears to be a case of drowning, the possibility of murder has not been ruled out.

Villagers present at the scene estimated the youth's age to be around 25-30 years. No external injury marks were visible on the body, though it was bloated due to prolonged exposure to water. Police are actively inquiring in nearby villages to identify the young man and have appealed to the public for any information regarding him. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear and concern in Khirhar and surrounding areas as police continue their investigation.
