Panic spread in Lakhisarai district after the body of a young man was recovered near the Benipur railway underpass. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when locals spotted a body near the underpass and immediately informed the police. Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and took possession of the body.

The deceased has not yet been identified, but the police have recovered a mobile phone from the crime scene, which may help in establishing the identity of the deceased. Prima facie, the case appears to be one of murder, as injury marks were found on the body. The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination to the Sadar Hospital to ascertain the exact cause of death.

The Superintendent of Police stated that considering the seriousness of the matter, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted. This team is investigating various aspects, including identifying the deceased, the motive behind the murder, and identifying the culprits involved. Police are scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and questioning locals to find any clues.

This incident has created an atmosphere of fear and anger among the local residents.
