A 22-year-old youth died by suicide by hanging himself in Ward 11 of Gonuchak village, under Fatiha Panchayat in Bachhwara police station area, on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Prince Kumar, son of Vijay Pandit. The tragic incident left his family devastated, and a crowd of villagers gathered at the spot upon receiving the news.

According to the deceased's mother, Prince was sleeping in his room in the afternoon. When she went to wake him up for lunch, she found his body hanging from the fan. Hearing her screams, family members and neighbors rushed to the scene and brought the body down. The Bachhwara police station was then informed.

Villagers stated that Prince's father had left home about 15 years ago and never returned. Prince and his brothers were being cared for by their uncle and grandfather. His grandfather also passed away last year. Prince was the eldest of four brothers and contributed to the family's livelihood by working as a laborer in a private establishment.

Various speculations are circulating in the village regarding the reasons for the suicide. Some villagers suggest the youth was under stress due to a love affair, while others claim Prince frequently suffered from epileptic seizures. According to villagers, he would suddenly fall during seizures and had previously injured his hand. However, the actual cause of the suicide has not yet been confirmed.

SHO Vikas Kumar Rai stated that the police have taken the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital, Begusarai, for post-mortem. The police are investigating all aspects of the case, and further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and investigation.
