A 28-year-old youth, Mohan Jha, was stabbed to death over a land dispute in Haintiwari village, under the Bhairavsthan police station area of Madhubani district, late Sunday night. Upon receiving information, Bhairavsthan police promptly arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and sent it to Sadar Hospital Madhubani for post-mortem.

Family members reported that Mohan Jha had an ongoing land dispute with some neighbors and other individuals in the village. It is alleged that due to this dispute, some people forcibly entered his house late at night and attacked him with a knife. Mohan, who was severely injured in the attack, died on the spot. After his father's demise, Mohan Jha lived with his mother in the village, running a small business to support himself and his mother.

The Bhairavsthan police informed senior officials about the incident. Jhanjharpur SDPO Subodh Kumar Sinha also reached the crime scene with police forces and initiated an investigation. The police inspected the site and questioned local residents. The station house officer stated that the process of registering an FIR based on the statements of the family members is underway. Raids are being conducted at potential hideouts to apprehend the accused. Police have assured that further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and facts revealed during the investigation. Police forces have been deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incidents.
