On Thursday, activists from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) locked down the Physics Department at GD College in Begusarai. This action was taken in protest against various student issues and the alleged indifference of the college administration. ABVP workers accused the college administration of not taking student problems seriously, forcing them to resort to agitation.

ABVP District Convener Ravi Verma stated that students in the Physics Department are facing numerous difficulties. Complaints about a lack of equipment in the laboratory, absence of teachers, and irregular class schedules have been ongoing. Students had repeatedly requested the college administration to resolve these issues, but their demands were ignored. In protest against this negligence, the students decided to lock down the department.

During the lockdown, ABVP activists chanted slogans against the college administration. They demanded that all necessary equipment be provided in the Physics Department, regular attendance of teachers be ensured, and classes be conducted on time. The activists warned that if their demands are not met soon, they will intensify their agitation and may lock down other departments of the college.

A tense atmosphere was observed on the college campus after this incident. The college administration attempted to engage with students and understand their problems. However, academic work in the Physics Department remained disrupted due to the lockdown. ABVP has made it clear that they are prepared to go to any extent in the interest of students and their agitation will continue until their demands are met.
