The All India Progressive Women's Association (APWA), affiliated with CPI-ML, staged a protest in Dumraon, Buxar, on Thursday. The demonstration was held against the incident of assault and molestation involving a minor girl and her companion in Jamui. The march, which began from the CPI-ML district office, culminated in a public meeting at Dumraon police station.

The meeting was presided over by Usha Devi and conducted by Phooljharo Devi. APWA leaders Pooja Kumari, Ruby Sharma, CPI-ML leader Lalan Ram, and district secretary Naveen Kumar addressed the gathering. Speakers demanded that the government be held accountable for the safety of female students and women. They called for an impartial investigation and strict action against the culprits of the Jamui incident, emphasizing the need to provide security and justice to the victim and her family.

Beyond police action, speakers questioned the government about specific measures taken to ensure the safety of female students and prevent such incidents. They stressed that this is not merely an isolated case in Jamui but a matter concerning the safety of all daughters of Bihar who leave their homes for education. CPI-ML leaders also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's election speeches, demanding answers from the government regarding its claims on law and order and the safety of girls in Bihar. They urged Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary to ensure accountability for the protection of female students and women. A large number of women and CPI-ML workers participated in the protest.
