A notorious cattle smuggler and gangster, Jumman, carrying a reward of ₹25,000, was arrested after an encounter with the police in Badaun. Jumman, who was wanted in eight cases related to cattle smuggling, sustained bullet injuries during the confrontation.

According to the police, Jumman opened fire on the police team during the encounter. In retaliation, police fired back, hitting him in both legs. Sub-Inspector Kamar Ahmed also sustained injuries during the shootout. Both the accused and the injured police officer have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

The SSP stated that a .315 bore country-made pistol, three live cartridges, four spent casings, a knife, and a rope were recovered from Jumman. Police had been searching for him for several days in connection with multiple cattle smuggling cases. Officials confirmed that eight cases, including those under the Cattle Smuggling and Gangster Act, were registered against him. This arrest is considered a significant success for the police.
