Police have arrested six individuals in connection with an attack on a Special Task Force (STF) team in the Narpatganj police station area of Araria district. Following their arrests, authorities recovered a country-made pistol and five spent cartridges based on their information. A separate case has been registered regarding the seizure of the weapon.

Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar stated that the incident occurred on October 11, when a police team arrived in Khaira Garhiya to arrest Ranjit Shah, acting on intelligence from two individuals involved in smack trafficking. At the scene, an argument erupted between the police team and Mohammad Farooq, the husband of the local mukhiya (village head). It is alleged that Farooq incited his supporters, leading to an attack on the team, in which some personnel were injured.

Police have filed a case against 29 named individuals and 20-25 unidentified persons. So far, six accused have been apprehended. The recovered weapon is reportedly linked to the mukhiya's son and two other individuals. SP Jitendra Kumar has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough probe into the incident. He affirmed that all individuals involved in the attack would be identified and stringent action would be taken against them according to the law. Police have also made it clear that no offender involved in drug trafficking or attacks on police teams will be spared. The SIT will now investigate the full extent of participation in the attack and the connection of the recovered weapon to the incident.
