A 35-year-old woman tragically died in Arwal district after being struck by lightning while working in her field. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire village, with her family inconsolable.

The deceased woman, whose identity is yet to be fully confirmed, was reportedly a resident of a village within Arwal. On Wednesday afternoon, the weather suddenly deteriorated, bringing heavy rain and thunder. During this period, a bolt of lightning struck the woman, killing her instantly.

Local residents stated that the woman had gone to her field for agricultural work, as was her routine. When the lightning struck, it caused panic among others nearby. Upon reaching the scene shortly after, people found her unconscious. She was immediately rushed to a nearby health center, where doctors declared her dead.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local authorities became active. Police have taken custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. There is a provision for government compensation in cases of death due to lightning strikes, and the family is expected to receive financial assistance. Villagers have urged the government to provide compensation to the affected family as soon as possible. This incident once again highlights the need for preventive measures against lightning during the monsoon season.
