मधेपुरा सदर अस्पताल परिसर में आशा कार्यकर्ताओं ने अपनी मांगों को लेकर जोरदार धरना-प्रदर्शन किया। बिहार राज्य आशा कार्यकर्ता संघ (गोप गुट) के बैनर तले आयोजित इस प्रदर्शन में बड़ी संख्या में आशा कार्यकर्ताओं ने भाग लिया। उनकी मुख्य मांगों में सेवा का स्थायीकरण और रिटायर होने पर एकमुश्त 10 लाख रुपये का भुगतान शामिल है। आशा कार्यकर्ताओं का कहना है कि वे ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की रीढ़ हैं और सरकार की विभिन्न स्वास्थ्य योजनाओं को जमीनी स्तर तक पहुंचाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती हैं। इसके बावजूद, उन्हें उचित मानदेय और सामाजिक सुरक्षा का लाभ नहीं मिलता है।
संघ की जिलाध्यक्ष अनुपमा कुमारी ने बताया कि आशा कार्यकर्ताएं लंबे समय से अपनी मांगों को लेकर संघर्ष कर रही हैं, लेकिन सरकार उनकी सुध नहीं ले रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि आशा कार्यकर्ताओं को सरकारी कर्मचारी का दर्जा दिया जाना चाहिए और उन्हें नियमित वेतनमान का लाभ मिलना चाहिए। इसके साथ ही, रिटायर होने पर उन्हें एक सम्मानजनक राशि मिलनी चाहिए ताकि वे अपना शेष जीवन गरिमापूर्ण तरीके से जी सकें। उन्होंने यह भी मांग की कि आशा कार्यकर्ताओं को मिलने वाले मानदेय में वृद्धि की जाए और उन्हें अन्य सरकारी कर्मचारियों की तरह सभी सामाजिक सुरक्षा योजनाओं का लाभ दिया जाए।
प्रदर्शनकारी आशा कार्यकर्ताओं ने चेतावनी दी कि यदि उनकी मांगों पर जल्द विचार नहीं किया गया, तो वे अपने आंदोलन को और तेज करेंगी। उन्होंने कहा कि वे तब तक अपना संघर्ष जारी रखेंगी जब तक उनकी सभी जायज मांगें पूरी नहीं हो जातीं। इस दौरान आशा कार्यकर्ताओं ने सरकार विरोधी नारे भी लगाए और अपनी एकजुटता का प्रदर्शन किया। उनका कहना था कि सरकार को उनकी सेवाओं का सम्मान करना चाहिए और उनके भविष्य को सुरक्षित करने के लिए ठोस कदम उठाने चाहिए। इस प्रदर्शन से सदर अस्पताल परिसर में कुछ समय के लिए गहमागहमी का माहौल रहा।

Their key demands include granting them the status of government employees, ensuring regular pay scales, and providing a respectable lump sum upon retirement to ensure a dignified life. They also called for an increase in their honorarium and the extension of all social security schemes, similar to other government employees. The protesting ASHA workers warned that if their demands are not addressed promptly, they would intensify their agitation. They vowed to continue their struggle until all their legitimate demands are met, asserting that the government must acknowledge their services and take concrete steps to secure their future.
