A 30-year-old man, Vikas Kumar, was brutally beaten to death in the Madanpur police station area of Aurangabad. His family alleges that on Tuesday night around 10 PM, while Vikas was returning home from Madanpur market, he was intercepted by his neighbor, Dilip Kumar Verma, and others. They forcibly took him into their house and severely assaulted him with sticks and iron rods, causing critical injuries.

According to family members, upon learning of the incident, they rushed to the spot but were prevented from entering the house by the accused. They then informed the police. Madanpur police arrived at the scene, searched the house, and rescued a critically injured Vikas from the upper floor. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, plunging his family into grief.

The police took custody of the body and sent it to Aurangabad Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. Relatives stated that Vikas was mentally challenged and often wandered into nearby houses. The police are investigating the actual motive behind the incident.

Madanpur Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar stated that the police have expedited the investigation. An FSL team has been called to collect evidence from the crime scene. In a swift action, the police have detained five suspects and are currently questioning them. The police are trying to ascertain why Vikas was taken inside the house and who all were involved in the assault. All aspects of the case are being investigated, and legal action will be taken once the roles of the accused are clarified. The incident has created an atmosphere of tension in the Kacheri Road area.
