A large crowd of devotees is gathering at the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha being held in Mahua Bigha village of Obra block. During this religious event, Mahant Anantacharya Ashok Maharaj of Ramjanki Temple, Mati village, Chandauli, Varanasi, elaborated on the importance of company. In his discourse, he stated that a person's life is deeply and directly influenced by the company they keep. Good company, especially the association of saints and great personalities, instills values in a person and inspires them to follow the path of righteousness.

Maharaj illustrated the impact of company using the famous narrative from the Shrimad Bhagwat Purana involving the Brahmin Atmadev, his wife Dhundhali, their son Dhundhkari, and Gokarna. He explained how Dhundhkari strayed onto the path of misdeeds due to bad company, while Gokarna became a scholar and a person of good character through the association and satsang (spiritual discourse) of saints and great personalities.

He urged the assembled devotees to choose their friends wisely and to connect with satsang to advance on the path of religion and spirituality. A devotional atmosphere prevails throughout the village due to the Katha. Vinod Kumar Singh, president of the Puja Committee, informed that the villagers are listening to the Katha with great reverence and enthusiasm, which is fostering a spirit of devotion.
