The Aurangabad district administration has imposed strict restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles to ensure the safety of devotees, smooth traffic flow, and crowd management in markets during the upcoming festive season. Special prohibitions have been enforced on the Tetaria Mor-Nabinagar main road and the Amba-Nabinagar Road.

According to directives issued by District Magistrate Abhilasha Sharma, heavy vehicles will only be permitted to operate between 12 AM and 7 AM until October 16. Subsequently, from October 17 to October 23, the movement of heavy vehicles will be completely banned on these routes. Magistrates and police personnel have been deployed to manage traffic from Tetaria Mor in Nabinagar to the Nabinagar main road.

The administration clarified that controlling heavy vehicle movement is crucial given the increasing crowds of devotees around puja pandals and rising traffic on the roads. Puja pandals have been set up at key locations in Nabinagar, including Tetaria Mor, Naur, Janakpur Pokhra, Damri Bigha, Railway Station, and Anugrah Narayan Stadium, where crowds are expected to swell after Saptami. The movement of heavy vehicles in such conditions could lead to accidents and traffic congestion.

The damage to the Menh Bridge has increased pressure on the Amba-Nabinagar Road, as heavy vehicles heading to NTPC were redirected through this route. This had led to complaints of dust pollution and inconvenience to locals in Amba market throughout the day. The situation has become even more challenging with increased crowds in the market due to Durga Puja. Several puja pandals are also located along the Amba-Nabinagar Road, attracting large numbers of devotees.

The administration stated that these measures aim to ensure the safety of devotees, reduce traffic congestion and dust problems in markets, and facilitate the peaceful conclusion of Durga Puja and immersion rituals. Magistrates and police officers will be stationed on the concerned routes to maintain traffic and law and order and ensure compliance with the restrictions.
