Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the snatching of ₹50,000 from a woman in the Bachhwara police station area of Begusarai district and were sent to judicial custody on Wednesday. The arrested accused have been identified as Vivek Kumar Yadav and Pappu Yadav, residents of Rataura village under Rataura police station in Katihar district.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 11:30 AM. Neelam Devi, a resident of Chamtha Balupar, Ward No. 11, Chamtha One Panchayat, had withdrawn ₹50,000 from the State Bank located in Chamtha Two Panchayat and was returning home by auto. Near the Gas Agency Chamtha, a motorcyclist spat gutkha on her saree and, feigning concern about the stain, asked her to wash it. The victim stopped the auto, handed the bag containing the money to another woman, and went to wash her saree at a hand pump. Seizing this opportunity, the bike-borne assailants attempted to flee with the bag of money.

However, with the help of the victim, the auto driver, and local residents, both motorcyclists were pursued and apprehended. The Bachhwara police were informed, and they promptly arrived at the scene. Local residents handed over both accused, along with their motorcycle, to the police.

Inspector-cum-Station Head Vikas Kumar Rai stated that a First Information Report (FIR) was registered based on the victim's application, and after interrogation, both accused were sent to judicial custody. He also mentioned that the motorcycle found with the accused was stolen, and they have a history of being jailed in several previous cases.
