A private coaching teacher and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) city minister, Saurabh Kumar, has been accused of raping a 16-year-old minor student in Begusarai's Bakri police station area. Following a complaint by the victim's mother, an FIR has been registered against the accused at Bakri police station, and Saurabh Kumar has been arrested.

According to the police, Saurabh Kumar had allegedly been luring the student for the past year, promising marriage and good exam scores, and then raping her. The last incident reportedly occurred on September 16, in bushes just 100 meters from the Bakri DSP's residence. The victim had been suffering from severe depression after the incident. Upon questioning by her family, she disclosed the details of the crime on September 17.

When the victim's family approached the accused teacher and the coaching institute's owner, they were allegedly threatened. Subsequently, on the evening of September 17, the victim's mother went to Bakri police station, but her complaint was not registered. Dissatisfied with the lack of police action, the victim's mother lodged a complaint with Begusarai SP Manish on September 21. Acting on the SP's directive, Bakri police immediately investigated the matter, and finding the allegations to be true, registered an FIR.

Superintendent of Police Manish stated that the victim has undergone a medical examination at Sadar Hospital, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been called in to collect scientific evidence. The accused, Saurabh Kumar, who has served as ABVP city minister for a second consecutive term, has been arrested and will be presented before the court. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the case.
