Monkeys Terrorize Barachatti, Injure Five; Forest Department Captures One
Residents of Barachatti block in Gaya district are living in fear due to an increase in monkey attacks. Five people have been injured in recent incidents. On Thursday morning, two individuals were bitten by monkeys in Dhobi Mohalla, Barachatti headquarters, following three earlier injuries in Baradih village.
Following continuous complaints from villagers, the Forest Department launched an operation. On Thursday morning around 11 AM, the team successfully captured one aggressive monkey in a cage. Forester Abhishek Kumar stated that the captured monkey was safely released into the Chordaaha forest in Jharkhand.
However, villagers report that several other monkeys are still present in the area and continue to attack people. They express particular concern for the safety of children, women, and pedestrians. People are forced to be vigilant when leaving their homes due to the fear of these animals. Villagers have urged the Forest Department to conduct a comprehensive campaign to capture the remaining aggressive monkeys to restore peace in the community.
