A tragic road accident in Begusarai claimed the lives of a mother and her son. The incident occurred near Panagachhi More in the Mufassil police station area as they were returning home on a motorcycle after taking a holy dip in the Ganga river. The deceased have been identified as Geeta Devi (50), wife of Naresh Rai, and her son Hariom Kumar (25), residents of Chhitraur village in Matihani.

According to reports, Naresh Rai's family resides in Begusarai city. On the day of the incident, Geeta Devi and Hariom Kumar had gone to Chak Chhitraur Ganga Ghat for a holy bath. While returning, their motorcycle was crushed by a speeding tractor near Panagachhi More. Geeta Devi died on the spot, while Hariom Kumar, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to the Sadar Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Enraged by the incident, local residents blocked the road near the accident site. They alleged that fast-moving tractors frequently ply on this single road day and night, leading to numerous accidents. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and were engaged in pacifying the crowd.
