In a tragic incident on Monday evening in Teghra, Begusarai district, a powerful gas cylinder blast engulfed two homes, reducing household belongings to ashes. The incident occurred in Madhurapur Dakshin Tol, Ward No. 27 of Teghra Nagar Parishad. According to victim Sonali Devi, she was preparing to make tea when the cylinder suddenly exploded, causing a rapid spread of fire.

The sound of the blast caused panic in the area. The flames intensified quickly, leaving no time for the families to salvage their belongings. Cash, valuable jewelry, clothes, and other household items were destroyed in minutes. The fire also spread to the adjacent house of neighbor Pintoo Singh, where his belongings were also lost. Both families have suffered significant financial losses due to this devastating incident.

Upon receiving the news, local villagers immediately initiated efforts to extinguish the fire and managed to bring it under control through collective action. The fire department and Teghra police station were informed and arrived at the scene, though the fire had already been doused.

Following the incident, Congress leader Deepak Singh, BJP leader Krishnandan Singh, and Ward Councilor Rahul Kumar visited the site and met with the affected families. They informed the Teghra Circle Officer about the incident and urged the administration to provide government assistance as per regulations. Demands have also been raised for appropriate compensation from the Bharat Gas agency for the losses incurred. This accident has plunged both families into a severe financial crisis, and they are now awaiting administrative support and compensation. The exact cause of the cylinder blast will be determined after an investigation.
