Jewellery and valuables worth approximately ₹10 lakh were stolen from a locked house in Hanuman Nagar, Belaganj police station area, Gaya district. The incident occurred while the homeowner, Chandan Kumar, and his family were away in Patna.

Chandan Kumar had locked his house on the evening of October 11 and left for Patna. On Tuesday, October 14, at 6 AM, he was informed about the theft by Sapan Kumar, the director of Paramount Coaching Centre.

Upon returning home, Chandan Kumar discovered that thieves had broken the courtyard grill and the locks of the rooms. The stolen items include gold and silver jewellery belonging to his late parents and wife, brass, bronze, and steel utensils worth around ₹4 lakh, and 75 to 80 silver coins. The total estimated value of the stolen jewellery alone is about ₹10 lakh.

Upon receiving the information, a Dial 112 police team arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Belaganj SHO Sunil Kumar Dwivedi confirmed that a complaint regarding the theft has been received. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter, with the SHO assuring that the case will be solved soon.
