The 139th birth anniversary of Bihar Kesari Shri Krishna Singh, also known as Shri Babu, was grandly celebrated on Wednesday in Wazirganj block, Gaya. Villagers organized a commemorative ceremony at Shri Krishna Singh Chowk. Attendees first paid their respects by garlanding and offering flowers to his portrait, followed by chants of 'Shri Krishna Singh Amar Rahein' (Long Live Shri Krishna Singh).

Social worker Kamala Prasad Singh highlighted that Shri Krishna Singh served as the first Prime Minister of undivided Bihar and later as the first Chief Minister of Bihar after independence. He was known to have studied approximately 65,000 books during his lifetime and spent eight years in jail during the freedom struggle. Amar Shankar noted that the anniversary of the chowk's naming was being celebrated alongside Bihar Kesari's birth anniversary, and efforts are underway for the chowk's beautification and installation of high-mast lights.

Pankaj Kumar Sanjay proposed the construction of a community hall named after Shri Krishna Singh and suggested organizing large-scale celebrations annually. Many others present, including Manish Kumar Kunnu, former PACS president Rajesh Kumar, Nandlal Kumar, Shyam Kanhaiya, and Satyendra Singh, remembered Shri Krishna Singh's invaluable contributions to the formation of modern Bihar, stating that his legacy is etched in golden letters.
